Arrest Warrant Issued For Suspect In Fatal Stabbing In Columbia
COLUMBIA, Md. (WJZ) -- Howard County Police have issued an arrest warrant for Anthony Patrick Parker in connection with Tuesday's fatal stabbing in Columbia.
Parker, 53, has been charged in a warrant for the murder of Phillip Wise. Police are asking for the public's help in identifying Parker's whereabouts and are continuing to offer a reward of up to $5,000 in the case.
Wise was found suffering from a stab wound in a parking lot in the 5500-block of Harper's Farm Road and was pronounced dead after being transported to Howard County General Hospital.
Police received a call to 911 around 4:30 p.m. Sept. 13 reporting that a man was bleeding in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The caller told police he was inside an apartment when he heard his car alarm activated. When he went outside to check the car, he saw the victim lying near it.
Investigators believe the victim may have collapsed against the car, setting off the alarm, before falling to the ground.
Detectives learned that Parker and Wise were seen with a group of people hanging out around a silver van in the parking lot on Harper's Farm Road. Witnesses reported an altercation between the two and saw Parker and several other people drive off in the van.
Through investigation, police identified the registered owner of the van and located it parked on Columbia Road, with blood on the front fender. The owner has not been charged with a crime. But through additional investigation and interviews, detectives identified Parker as the subject seen fighting with Wise. He has been charged in the warrant with first-degree murder.
Police are working to identify Parker's whereabouts. Anyone with information is eligible for a reward and should contact police at 410-313-STOP.
