Arena Stage To Revive 'Oklahoma!' Production In D.C.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Arena Stage is reviving its production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Oklahoma!" this summer after the show shattered all box office records in the company's 60-year history.
The theater is announcing Tuesday that the musical will return July 8 through Oct. 9. Artistic Director Molly Smith will again direct the production in Arena's theater-in-the-round Fichandler Stage.
Managing Director Edgar Dobie says the original cast members have been invited to return but have not been confirmed.
Eleasha Gamble drew praise in the lead role of Laurey, along with Nicholas Rodriguez from Broadway's "Tarzan" as Curly and E. Faye Butler as Aunt Eller.
The show proved to be a hit for Arena's opening in its new home at the Mead Center for American Theater.
