Anti-Drone Activists Target G-8 Meeting At Camp David
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Opponents of America's use of unmanned aircraft against terrorism suspects are targeting Maryland politicians and the Group of Eight economic summit at Camp David.
Organizers of the Know Drones Tour say they'll demonstrate Thursday afternoon at the Frederick office of Rep. Roscoe Bartlett.
They want the Republican congressman to send survivors of U.S. drone strikes more than $88,000 in campaign contributions he has received from drone makers and related businesses.
The group also plans to visit the Frederick office of Bartlett's Democratic opponent, John Delaney.
They'll also demonstrate Friday and Saturday in Frederick and Thurmont as leaders of the eight leading industrialized nations meet at Camp David.
Critics say drones are being used for surveillance of the American public. They say the program turns the entire planet into a battlefield.
