Anne Arundel Police Search For Man Sexually Assaulting Women

PASADENA, Md. (WJZ)—Anne Arundel County Police are looking for a burglar who snuck into homes early Thursday, sexually touching women as they slept.

Suzanne Collins reports police are in the Pasadena neighborhood searching for clues.

Police are out in force in Pasadena, warning homeowners about a groper, a man slipping into homes and touching women in their private areas as they sleep. When he flees, he takes purses and cash.

The first burglary call at 2:45 a.m. didn't involve sexual touching of a 28-year-old victim.

"In that case the female victim said a male subject was in her bedroom, she saw him standing there, she yelled, and he subsequently left," said Justin Mulcahy, Anne Arundel County Police.

Police got a call to a second location shortly after where a 56-year-old woman had been groped.

"It's just kind of creepy," said Kayleigh Kehrer. "It's creepy to think that, especially since we're in this neighborhood and nothing like that has ever happened before."

"We were made aware of a third incident this morning where a victim feels she was possibly touched during the night. And there was some access gained to the house there. Based on that info, we're looking at all three as possibly being linked," Mulcahy said.

Police aren't saying if the suspect entered through doors or windows. But they do believe people left their homes unsecured and he took advantage of that.

One woman did get a look at the intruder: a white male with a thin build wearing a black sweatshirt with writing.

"It's quite scary," said Robin Vitale. "It really is."

"It's very scary. Definitely keep all the doors locked," said a female driver.

Police are looking at other similar sex cases to see if they can come up with a suspect.

Police say they think there could be more victims, and they hope anyone with information about the groper will call.

As a reminder to residents, remember to lock all doors and windows, utilize any exterior lighting around your home and report any suspicious activity. Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact the Eastern District at 410-222-6145.
