Anne Arundel County Executive Laura Neuman Seeks Full Term
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ)--Months after assuming the role of Anne Arundel County Executive, Laura Neuman says she putting together a campaign committee to seek a full term in office.
Adam May has the story.
The former Economic Development Chief for Howard County was selected by the County Council to replace John Leopold, who was convicted of misconduct in office.
She is currently one of the highest profile Republicans to hold an office in Maryland.
Since taking over, Neuman has been forced to tackle a litany of issues, including controversial police leadership and a series of hidden cameras inside county buildings.
Wednesday, she told WJZ she was shocked to discover 911 operators were using a 1950s era flip chart to help callers.
She's immediately making plans to computerize the system.
Nueman's campaign committee meets for the first time next month.
The next General Election is 2014.
