14-Year-Old Boy Killed In Shooting In Annapolis
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) — Police in Annapolis are investigating after a 14-year-old boy was shot and killed late Monday night.
Officers were called to the 1800 block of Bowman Court for a reported shooting at around 10:30 p.m.
The responding officers found the victim lying in the street suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The victim was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
Police later identified him as Camarin Wallace.
Annapolis Police Chief Ed Jackson said investigators are still working to find out who pulled the trigger.
"It's my goal and I'm going to use every tool available to find out who is responsible," Chief Jackson said.
Neighbors said Wallace was always smiling and friendly.
"He was a sweet kid, he really was," a neighbor told WJZ. "When he came out here he spoke to everybody, he helped everybody, its just so sad."
At a press conference Tuesday, acting mayor Rhonda Pindell Charles said his death shocked city leaders.
"At the age of 14, he was about to embark upon the prime of his life," the acting mayor said.
Police are also investigating after a 17-year-old was shot Tuesday in Annapolis. The victim was taken to an area hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injures.
