Annapolis Police Investigate 21-Year-Old Woman's Shooting Death
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Mayor Gavin Buckley is vowing that authorities will find whoever killed a 21-year-old woman Wednesday night at an Annapolis apartment complex.
The woman, identified as Shakeo Williams, was fatally shot shortly after 9 p.m. at the Harbour House community located on Madison Street, police said Thursday.
"There is no circumstance where this can be tolerated," the mayor said in part. "… People have the right to feel safe in their neighborhoods. This is a small town and these shootings are personal. This woman's life was cut short at 21. She had her whole life ahead of her."
No details about a possible suspect or motive in the case were immediately released.
Buckley said a crisis intervention team is assisting Williams' family in their time of grief, and he is asking any witnesses to share what they know with police.
"Please come forward to stop this kind of violence," Buckley said.
