Annapolis Hands Out Sandbags, Awaits Flooding
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Annapolis city officials are handing out sandbags to help residents keep out bay waters threatening to flood parts of town.
City officials say parts of Dock Street, Compromise Street, Newman Street and other roads in low-lying areas may be flooded Monday. Southerly winds holding water in the Chesapeake Bay are being blamed.
The Department of Public Works is distributing the sandbags at the Second Street Pumping Station in the city's Eastport section and the Mills Liquors and Market House at City Dock.
