Amtrak Resumes Service Between Baltimore, Philly
WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) -- Amtrak says service between Baltimore and Philadelphia has resumed after there were problems near Wilmington, Del.
The rail line said late Monday that service on the Acela Express and Northeast Regional service had been suspended because of mechanical problems involving the overhead electrical system near Wilmington. Service resumed about 11:30 p.m., Amtrak said in a statement.
It did not say if the problems were weather related.
The rail line said there will be residual delays as crews clear congestion cause by the service disruption and that people planning to take Amtrak on Tuesday should check the status of their trains online or by calling 800-USA-RAIL.
Amtrak had said earlier it will operate a modified schedule on the Northeast Corridor between Washington and Boston on Tuesday because of extremely cold weather.
