Alleged 'Butt Slasher' Caught In Peru
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- After a year-long search, police finally catch the so-called butt slasher. The Peruvian man targeted shoppers in Northern Virginia. Now, the string of violent, perverse attacks is over--a sigh of relief for shoppers near Washington D.C.
Adam May has the story.
"I was actually in the Forever 21 store the day before he was there. Now that he's caught, it feels good," said one female shopper.
"I was there with her, and I was scared," said her friend.
Fairfax County police say they linked 40-year-old Johnny Pimentel to nine slashings of women's backsides in Northern Virginia, including two at Tysons Corner Center and five at Fair Oaks Mall.
The slasher left a three-inch gash on the buttocks of a 20-year-old pregnant woman.
"There was blood all over my hand," she explained. "It was ridiculous. I started freaking out."
Criminal profilers say Pimentel may have some type of sexual gratification disorder.
Ironically, he was arrested at another shopping mall in his country of Peru.
At least nine women reported injuries but some cuts were small so police suspect those women had no idea they were attacked.
Fairfax County authorities are working to get Pimentel back in the United States to stand trial.
