Allegany Board Asks For Enhanced School Security
CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- The Allegany County Board of Education is asking for $500,000 for enhanced school security.
The board approved its 2014 budget on Tuesday with the condition that the money be requested from the county.
The Cumberland Times-News reports that the board wants to add five resource officers and two mental health professionals. Currently, there are four resource officers.
The Allegany County Commission must now decide on the request.
