Alcohol Believed Factor In Fatal Aspen Hill Crash
ASPEN HILL, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County Police say alcohol appears to have been a factor in a crash that killed a driver and injured a passenger in Aspen Hill.
Police say David Hernandez, 47, of Rockville was killed in the crash. The car he was driving went over a curb and hit a tree on Aspen Hill Road around 1 a.m. Saturday.
Police say Hernandez died at the scene. The front-seat passenger was removed from the vehicle and taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
While police believe Hernandez had been drinking, the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation. The crash occurred hours before the region was hit with a winter storm, so weather did not appear to be a factor.
