AACO Police: Small Fight Causes Panic At Annapolis Mall

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) -- Tense moments for Black Friday shoppers at a mall in Annapolis.

There were reports of shots fired at Westfield Annapolis Mall around 4 p.m. However, according to Anne Arundel County Police, it was a fight between minors, not a shooting that caused panic.

The fight took place in the food court and parties involved overturned tables -- making a loud "bang" sound when glass broke.

"Clearly, [the noise was] scary for the hundreds of shoppers,"  police spokesman T.J. Smith said. "We were able to quickly determine, no shots, a fight with disorderly subjects. The mall is open and resuming normal operations."

Police do not have any suspect information at this time, but anyone with video, pictures or information on the suspect is asked to call the Southern District at 410-222-1961 or email tips@aacounty.org.
