AAA Reports More Marylanders Are Expected To Stay Home For Thanksgiving
BALTIMORE (WJZ)—Thanksgiving is this week and it turns out more Marylanders will celebrate at home. AAA just released its travel forecast for the holiday.

The Thanksgiving holiday travel period is Wednesday through Monday, and Wednesday will be the busiest day.
Planes, trains and automobiles. Thanksgiving travel is upon is.
AAA predicts nearly 44 million Americans will travel for Thanksgiving.
That includes about 900,000 Marylanders, a slight dip from last year.
About 90 percent plan to drive.
"Before getting behind the wheel, we advise drivers to make sure their car is road ready. Check all your fluids, check the tire pressure. Remember, one vehicle breakdown can lead to extensive delays for everyone," said Christine Delise, AAA.
According to AAA, economic reasons are keeping people closer to home.
But there is some good news: drivers can expect a drop in gas prices.
Just remember to pack your patience.
"Whether you're driving, flying or taking the train, expect crowds and expect congested roads. So leave plenty of time to reach your destination," Delise said.
AAA reports a decline in air and car travel but strong growth in other modes of transportation, like trains and buses.
Those traveling will go farther away from home this year. The average distance? About 600 miles.
