80-Year-Old Man Dies In Westminster Fire
WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- Fire officials say an 80-year-old man has died in a house fire in Westminster.
The blaze was reported about 1 a.m. Tuesday in a wood-frame, ranch-style house on Old Washington Road. Fire officials say five people escaped when the smoke alarm sounded.
Firefighters found Stanley J. Kundin dead in the basement of the home. His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore.
The Carroll County Times reports that some 60 firefighters from several companies battled the blaze for 90 minutes.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
