Student Hospitalized, 7 Cited, After Fight At Annapolis High School
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Seven students were given citations and one is at large after a fight at Annapolis High School Thursday morning, Anne Arundel County Police tell WJZ.
Officers were called to the school around 7 a.m. The fight was over very quickly and police issued citations to students for various charges, including second degree assault, disorderly conduct and disturbing school activities.
The unidentified student who ran from the school will be issued a citation when police locate him or her, they say.
This letter went out to parents and guardians of students at the school today:

Dear Parents and Guardians:
As you may be aware, police were called to our school this morning to assist in breaking up several fights. I am writing to provide you with updated information so that you can address this matter with your child in a manner you deem most appropriate.
At about 7:10 this morning, just before classes began, a fight broke out in an upstairs hallway. That fight led to several other fights, and required additional police to be called to the school. The fights involved about 10 students, and police and school staff broke them up as quickly as possible.
The fights seem to have stemmed from a neighborhood dispute, and appear to be related to a fight between two students that occurred at the end of the day yesterday. Police arrested several students in relation to this morning's incidents, and one student was transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries.
Along with police, we have spent the day investigating these incidents. As a result of today's events and information we have learned throughout the day, we have – as a precautionary measure – canceled all after-school activities at Annapolis High School today.
PVA students who normally go to Studio 39 today will go there as scheduled on their regular bus. Any other Annapolis High School student will go home on their regular bus and leave from the school at 2:05 p.m. Evening High School Classes at the Annapolis High School campus only are also canceled today.
In addition to any actions that may be forthcoming from police, we will take appropriate action in accordance with our Code of Student Conduct with regard to any student found to be involved.
I urge you to talk to your child and discuss this matter. Please reiterate to your child the need to help our school remain a place that is focused on instruction and where issues that begin outside the building are left there.
