500 Pounds Of Marijuana, 5 Kilos Of Cocaine Seized In Baltimore Co.
PHOENIX, Md. (AP) -- Federal officials say they found about 500 pounds of marijuana and 5 kilograms of cocaine at a home in Baltimore County with containers used to ship the drugs from Arizona.
Drug Enforcement Agency officials say agents searched a home in Phoenix in northern Baltimore County earlier this week after intercepting a conversation that led them to believe resident Harold Byrd was selling drugs. According to court documents, agents had been tracking Byrd for some time using a court-authorized tracking device.
Officials say they found the cocaine in a workroom of the home and the marijuana in 73 black plastic containers. They say investigators also seized three handguns, an AK-47 and four sets of body armor.
Harold and Joseph Byrd have been charged with possession and intent to distribute drugs.
