5 Ravens Selected For The Pro Bowl
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Ravens get a high-five for Hawaii. Five players were selected for the Pro Bowl All-Star Game in Honolulu.
Four of them are on defense, and all four of them have been there before.
The surprise is the fifth Raven: kicker Billy Cundiff. Completing his first full season as a Raven, Cundiff was an upset winner of a preseason tryout with Shayne Graham. Cundiff converted 24 of 27 field goal attempts and is on the brink of the all-time record of most touchbacks on kick-offs. It's his first Pro Bowl selection, equaling the number of times Matt Stover made it.
Linebacker Ray Lewis was named to the AFC team for the 12th time in a 15-year career. Lewis told WJZ it feels as good as the first time. He's joined by Ed Reed--voted for the 7th time. Terrell Suggs goes to his 4th Pro Bowl and Haloti Ngata his second.
With five Ravens named, only Atlanta and New England had more players picked than the Ravens.
The Pro Bowl is Jan. 30, the week before the Super Bowl.
