5 Men Indicted In Md. In Series Of Robberies
GREENBELT, Md. (AP) -- A federal grand jury in Greenbelt has indicted five men in connection with an armored car robbery, a carjacking and a series of other armed robberies.
The 10-count indictment includes charges of armed robbery, discharging a weapon during a crime of violence, conspiracy and other crimes.
Four of the five men are from the District of Columbia. One is from Upper Marlboro. They're being held pending trial.
Prosecutors say the crimes included in the indictment occurred from last October to December. They allege the men robbed an armored car company employee at gunpoint in Takoma Park, then carjacked another car and shot the driver.
The men are accused of driving into D.C., where the car was set on fire.
