5 Charged With Robbing Anne Arundel County Taxi Driver
LINTHICUM HEIGHTS, Md. (WJZ)— Five people were arrested in Anne Arundel County in connection to an armed robbery of a taxi cab driver.
The robbery took place Thursday morning at around 1:30 a.m. at Evelyn Avenue and Hammonds Ferry North in Linthicum Heights.
The taxi driver told police he arrived to pick up a fare when two men and a woman entered the rear of the cab. One male suspect displayed a knife and the other a handgun.
They demanded money from the victim. He handed over an undisclosed amount of money. The suspects then took his car keys and his cell phone.
The suspects entered a gray sedan that was parked nearby and fled the area.
Around 1:45 a.m. a detective spotted a vehicle fitting the description of that used in the robbery on Rt. 648 in Ferndale and conducted a traffic stop. The vehicle was occupied by three males and two females.
The taxi driver was able to positively identify several of the occupants as suspects in the robbery.
All five were arrested.
A knife and a BB pistol were found in the vehicle.
All five suspects—22-year-old Jerome Weber of Pasadena, 29-year-old Justin Russell of Chester, 43-year-old Michael Raub of Glen Burnie, 32-year-old Nicole Gorman of Glen Burnie, and 26-year-old Brittni Nobile of Glen Burnie--were charged with the robbery.
Gorman was also served with an outstanding warrant from Howard County for motor vehicle theft. Russell was also served with an outstanding warrant from Queen Anne's County for a parole violation.
Detectives are following up on this case to see if it is linked to other robberies in the area.
