4 Suspects Arrested For Armed Robbery, Kidnapping
SILVER SPRING, Md. (WJZ)-- Montgomery County Police have arrested four suspects for an armed robbery and kidnapping in Silver Spring that happened last month.
Two suspects were charged on July 7, one on July 9 and the fourth suspect was charged on July 10. The defendants are:
Steven Allen Graham, 42, of Upper Marlboro, was charged July 7 ; Vusumuzi Mchunu, 39, of Laurel, was charged July 7; Anthony Allen Graham, 46, of Washington, D.C., was charged July 9 and Nikita Kenyatta Corey, 38, of Clinton, was charged July 10.
Police say on June 26, a Washington, D.C. man was held against his will at a hotel room and a second man from Takoma Park was driven against his will to an area bank to withdraw money.
The investigation revealed that Mchunu knew the first victim, who owed him money. Mchunu knew the man was going to be at Maryland Live! casino on June 25 and decided to meet him there. Mchunu then called Corey, Steven and Anthony Graham to help him collect his debt.
All four suspects waited until the victim left the casino, and followed him to the Marriott. Corey and Steven Graham also followed him into the Marriott hotel and onto the elevator. Those two suspects observed which room the victim entered. Approximately three hours later, the victim heard a knock at his door.
A fifth, still-unidentified suspect, also entered the room--pointing a gun at the victim, threatening his life and ordering him to the floor. The fifth suspect fled from the room and had no further involvement in the incident.
Mchunu learned that the victim had cash in his vehicle. He went out to the vehicle and obtained $6,500.
All four suspects have been charged with two counts of armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and false imprisonment. They were also charged with one count each of first-degree burglary, theft of $1,000 to under $10,000 and theft of $10,000 to under $100,000.
