Police Investigate Hit-And-Run In Glen Burnie
GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WJZ) -- Police are investigating a hit-and-run in Glen Burnie.
It happened Friday around 7:32 p.m. on the 7300-block of Baltimore Annapolis Blvd.
Police say they found a pedestrian lying in the roadway with non-life threatening injuries.
The initial investigation revealed the pedestrian identified as Enid Choloh Dukule, who was crossing Baltimore Annapolis Blvd in a dark area while wearing dark clothing and was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Baltimore Annapolis Blvd. Dukule was in a designated crosswalk, but was crossing against the Don't Walk pedestrian signals.
Paramedics transported Dukule to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Unit where she remained in critical condition.
The investigation indicated that pedestrian error is the primary cause of the crash. The striking vehicle did not remain on the scene and is believed to be a Sports Utility Vehicle.
