35-foot Boat Catches Fire, Sinks In North East River
NORTH EAST, Md. (WJZ)—No one was injured when a 35-foot boat caught fire and sank in the North East River on Saturday, according to the Maryland Natural Resources Police.
WJZ media partner The Baltimore Sun reports that the boat's owner was preparing for the coming storm when he saw his boat on fire around 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, but it sank before it could be towed to shore.
