34 People Charged With Conspiring To Distribute Heroin And Marijuana
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- After a months-long state and federal wiretap investigation, 34 people have been charged with conspiring to distribute heroin and marijuana.
According to the Baltimore Police Department, city and county authorities used more than 20 search warrants to seize firearms, ammunition, hundreds of pills of suspected heroin and tens of thousands of dollars Tuesday morning.
The investigation of the alleged drug organization began in 2011 and led to state wiretaps of 10 different telephone lines starting in September 2012.
Nine people were given federal indictment charges, including Brandon Clark, 25; Anthon Harris, 21; Stanford Stewart, 65; and Raheem Baker, 21.
Fifteen others were charged in state indictments for conspiring with Clark to distribute heroin, including Carlos Brown, 23; Christopher Brown, 22; Robert Collier, 41; Jordan Evans, 22; Marquise Johnson, 23; Wanda Lucas, 49; and Shawn Stansbury, 39.
Tyrell Allsup, 19; James Beasle, 49; Bruce Brown, 44; Isaac Jackson, 22; and Brandon Long were among seven charged in state indictments for conspiring to distribute heroin. Three, including 30-year-old Carlos Moultrie, were charged in state indictments for conspiring to distribute marijuana.
The investigation was conducted by the Baltimore Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Major Investigations Unit of the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office and the United States Attorney's Office for Maryland.
