3 Teens Arrested For Theft & Assault At Arundel Mills Mall
HANOVER, Md. (WJZ)— Three juveniles were arrested for assaulting a 15-year-old boy and stealing his merchandise at Arundel Mills Mall. Police are searching for three others.
Police were called to the mall just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday and spoke to the 15-year-old victim from Baltimore. He told officers that he was walking inside the mall when an unknown group of six teenaged boys passed him. One person in the group exchanged words with the victim and then punched him. When the victim tried to defend himself, the rest of the group surrounded him and assaulted him.
One of the suspects took the victim's bag of merchandise and the group of juveniles fled the mall on foot. Patrol officers with assistance from mall security were able to locate and arrest three of the suspects nearby. The other suspects managed to flee the area on foot.
The victim sustained a minor facial injury and he was turned over to his father's care.
A 15-year-old from Severn, a 16-year-old from Severn and a 16-year-old juvenile from Baltimore were charged as juveniles with robbery, assault and theft under $1,000.00. They were released to guardians.
