3 Taken To Hospital After Apt. Bldg. Fire In DC
WASHINGTON (AP) -- D.C. fire and police officials say an adult and two children have been taken to a hospital following a blaze at an apartment building.
Officials say the fire broke out in the kitchen of a second-story unit in the 1300 block of Alabama Avenue in southeast Washington early Friday morning. Firefighters arrived to find several residents screaming from balconies on the third-story and used ladders to rescue them.
Officials say the adult and two children were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The fire has been extinguished.
