3 Red Line Stations To Close For Weekend Work
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says passengers should expect to wait longer than usual for trains this weekend while work is being conducted, and three stations on the red line will be closed.
Beginning Friday at 10 p.m. and continuing through closing on Sunday, free shuttle buses will replace red line trains between Rhode Island Avenue and Forest Glen. The Brookland, Takoma and Silver Spring stations will be closed, and the Fort Totten Station will be open for green line service only.
Metro says passengers traveling on the orange, blue, yellow and green lines can expect longer than usual waits on the platform for trains. Metro says trains will operate every 20 minutes throughout the weekend. Once trains depart, however, Metro says passengers should not experience delays.
