3 Killed In Fire At Cumberland Home

CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- State fire investigators say three people were killed in a fire at a home in Cumberland.

The Maryland state fire marshal's office says a passerby spotted the blaze at the home on Estelle Street around 4 a.m. Sunday and called 911.

Officials say it took about 20 firefighters from Cumberland and Ridgely, W.Va., about 20 minutes to extinguish the one-alarm blaze.

Officials say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The state fire marshal's office says the bodies of the deceased will be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical examiner for positive identification once the on-scene investigation is complete.
