3 Charged In 8 Church Burglaries In Md.
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office has charged three Smithsburg men in connection with burglaries of eight churches in the eastern part of the county.
The burglaries occurred between Oct. 27 and Nov. 15. Deputies say some stolen items, including electronics, were sold to a pawn shop. Authorities say one man forged checks to himself from a church's checkbook.
Charged with numerous offenses are 30-year-old Michael Hymes; 25-year-old Randy Miller, and 35-year-old Jeffrey Harper.
