Second Person Dies After Fire In Salisbury
SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Officials say a second person has died after a fire in a duplex in Salisbury.
Fire officials responded to the blaze on Patrick Avenue on Friday. On Sunday, a spokeswoman at Peninsula Regional Medical Center confirmed the death of Mary Holdbrook, who had been found unconscious Friday in the smoke-filled house. A family member told the Daily Times of Salisbury that Holdbrook, 41, had been kept alive to allow her organs to be donated.
Holdbrook's husband, 66-year-old William Holdbrook Jr., also died in the fire.
Authorities previously said the fire began in the main bedroom and did $80,000 in damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
