28 Maryland Wineries Paid Fee To Ship To Consumers
BALTIMORE (AP) -- The Maryland Wineries Association says 28 state wineries have paid a fee in order to be able to ship wine directly to consumers.
WBAL-AM reported the numbers Monday.
A new law passed this spring allows wineries to start shipping directly to customers, but they have to pay a $200 fee to the state first.
The executive director of the Maryland Wineries Association says many wineries have upgraded their websites to take online direct shipping orders and have purchased boxes needed for wine shipping.
