2 Teens Charged In Fatal Stabbing Of 74-Year-Old

RIVERDALE, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police say they have charged two teenagers in the fatal stabbing of a 74-year-old man in Riverdale.

Police said Wednesday that Kenneth Gails, 18, and a 16-year-old male, both of Riverdale, have been charged with murder in the July 14 stabbing. Authorities say the teens were apparently trying to rob the victim, Glenn Adkisson, also of Riverdale.

Cpl. Henry Tippett, a police spokesman, says Adkisson told officers he had been stabbed while walking his dog. Adkisson was taken a hospital in critical condition and eventually lapsed into a coma. Tippett says he died Tuesday.

Police say Gails has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held on a $750,000 bond. The 16-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond.
