2 Rescued From Burning Home In Fairmount Heights

FAIRMOUNT HEIGHTS, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County firefighters say they have rescued two people from a house fire in Fairmount Heights and one is in critical condition.

Fire officials say that they received a report of a fire at a two-story home in the 5300 block of Sheriff Road about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from the second-floor of the home and quickly extinguished them.

Two people were rescued from the home. One was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The other suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
