2 Plead Guilty To Robbing Armored Truck
GREENBELT, Md. (AP) -- Two D.C. men have pleaded guilty to robbing an armored truck and a carjacking in Takoma Park.
Twenty-two-year Tonnie Floyd entered the pleas Friday in federal court in Greenbelt. Twenty-three-year-old Marcellus Freeman entered his plea on Monday.
According to their plea agreements, Oct. 26, 2012, Floyd, Freeman and a third man followed an armored car to a Cricket store. When the truck driver came out of the store a bag containing nearly $4,000, two of the men, brandishing handguns, accosted the driver.
Prosecutors say the conspirators grabbed the bag and drove off, but soon had to stop because the vehicle had a flat tire. Authorities say they shot a man who was getting into his car and drove away.
