2 Officers Rescue Man, Woman From Inner Harbor Water

BALTIMORE (WJZ)— A man and woman were rescued from the freezing cold waters of the Inner Harbor on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened around 2 p.m. when a woman went into the water and was in danger of drowning.

A man passing by then jumped in the water in effort to save her, but he too become in need of rescue.

Officers Larry Tucker and Anthony Magwood, who are assigned to the Baltimore Police Inner Harbor Unit, were able to rescue both from the waters.

Both the man and woman pulled from the water were treated by Fire Department paramedics and are expected to fully recover.

Major Melissa Hyatt praised the officers, saying she is very proud of the work they had done.

The Inner Harbor Unit is responsible for patrolling the Inner Harbor and areas immediately adjacent to the harbor.

The officers patrol the area on foot, bicycle and motorized vehicles.
