2 More Plead Guilty In Western Md. Arson Ring
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Two women are pleading guilty to being involved in an arson ring blamed for 40 fires in western Maryland.
The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that prosecutors want Olivia Hannah of Frederick and Sarah Mathews of Adamstown to spend their Christmas holiday from college in jail.
Hannah, 20, faces up to four years for conspiracy. Mathews, 20, faces up to 18 months for second-degree malicious burning.
They are among eight people charged in a series of fires in March that damaged several cars and dozens of garages, barns, outbuildings and hay bales.
The ring was allegedly led by Tyler Murray, 21, of Williamsport. He faces 83 counts at a trial is set for Nov. 4.
Four others also await trial.
Colin Hess, 18, of Clear Spring pleaded guilty to conspiracy in August.
