2 Injured After Personal Watercraft Goes Over Dam
CLEAR SPRING, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say two people were injured after their personal watercraft went over a dam on the Potomac River in western Maryland.
Sgt. Cody Hunter of the Clear Spring Fire Department says a 10-year-old boy was flown to Children's Hospital in Washington and a female patient was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Hunter says the boy had a possible broken leg. He did not know the age of the female patient or the extent of her injuries.
The accident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday at Dam No. 5 south of Clear Spring. Hunter says by the time rescuers arrived, passers-by had pulled the two out of the river. Rescuers used a rope system to get both patients up an embankment.
