5-Year-Old Boy Dies After Car Crash On I-83; 9-Year-Old In Critical Condition
BALTIMORE (WJZ)— A 5-year-old boy has died after an accident on northbound I-83 at the ramp to the Inner Loop of the Beltway. His 9-year-old sister and the children's parents were also transported to the hospital for their injuries.

Police tell WJZ that four vehicles were involved in the accident just before 3 p.m.
Troopers say a Jeep Cherokee failed to slow for stopped traffic on the ramp from northbound I-83 before I-695 and hit the rear of an Acura. The Acura was pushed into a Prius, which was pushed into a Subaru.
All four occupants of the Acura were taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Police say James Owen was driving the Acura with Susan Owen, 9-year-old Alexandra Owen and 5-year-old Jake Owen. Jake Owen died of his injuries. Alexandra Owen is in critical condition. James Owen is in stable condition. Susan Owen is also in stable condition.
Trooper says Devin McKeiver was driving the Jeep and is believed to be at fault. He was taken to the hospital but has since been released. Police say speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, but the accident is under investigation.
No charges have been filed.
