3 Charged With Stealing UM Athletic Equipment
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) -- University of Maryland Police have arrested three men in burglaries at the college's Varsity Team Building.
Officers say Igor Cooper Rosensteel, Richard Nathan Landa and Ian Robert Hammer have been charged with burglary and theft.
Authorities say the building was broken into several times in November and December and items worth more than $20,000 were stolen. Many of the items were equipment used by the lacrosse and baseball teams.
Police say many of the items were sold during online auctions.
