2 Charged After Marijuana, Guns Seized At Gambrills Residence & Day Care
GAMBRILLS, Md. (WJZ) -- Anne Arundel County Police seize a small amount of marijuana and several guns from a residence that also serves as a day care.
Christie Ileto has more about the pair police say are behind this.
Police say Rosemary Tuck and Douglas Woods are not day care employees; they just live in the home.
Anne Arundel County Police say Rosemary Tuck, 30, and Douglas Woods, 49, are facing drug charges Tuesday after police found drugs and weapons while searching a Gambrills residence that also serves as a local day care.
"It was happening at this residence, which is of course is troubling for us because it happened in close proximity of children because they were in the same house. But the weapons weren't in close proximity to children," said Lt. T.J. Smith, Anne Arundel County Police.
Drug paraphernalia, 0.9 grams of marijuana, six rifles and a 2007 Ford Explorer were seized from the living quarters of the house, not the day care.
Anne Arundel County police say it all started when undercover investigators were purchasing marijuana from a female from the residence. That led to a search warrant.
"Undercover officers did make narcotic transactions at that house," said Smith. "During that time, children were present at the home."
Police say the pair are not day care employees or child care providers, just residents of the home.
WJZ stopped by the house that police say doubles as the Gambrills Day Nursery. The man who answered the door didn't want to be identified but says he is the day care owner.
"There's no guns here. There's a shed 500 feet in the back," he said. "The drugs weren't here that I know of."
Police say the day care provider was not involved in this in any way.
The day care remained open Tuesday. The owner says parents are being notified.
