2 Bullets Found In Inmate Possession At Md. Prison
CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- Maryland correctional officials say a maximum-security prison near Cumberland remains on modified lockdown a week after an inmate turned over two live bullets to a staff member.
A Division of Correction spokeswoman said Monday that the .22-caliber bullets were found Nov. 21 as a result of intelligence efforts and a focus on contraband interdiction at the North Branch Correctional Institution.
She says investigators have found no weapon capable of firing the rounds.
Inmates are being denied visitors and fed in their cells while officers continue to search for contraband.
The Cumberland Times-News first reported the discovery.
