2 Arrests Made In Stabbing Death At Fish Head Cantina
ARBUTUS, Md. (WJZ)—A fight broke out Sunday at Fish Head Cantina in Arbutus, resulting in the stabbing death of a Lansdowne man. Now Baltimore County Police have arrested two people in connection to his murder.
Thirty-one-year-old Shelbie Mech, of Brooklyn, Md., was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree murder. Her alleged husband, Michael Singer, was charged as an accessory.
Charging documents suggest the fight broke out on the outside patio of the Benson Avenue bar and restaurant shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
During the course of the fight, a security officer says he observed Mech punch 22-year-old John Bowman in his left side.
Another witness says she overheard Mech say "I just stabbed this guy up. We have to get out of here."
According to charging documents, Singer, who was performing at the bar that night, prevented a security officer from detaining Mech after the incident and even helped Mech bend the license plate of the car she entered upon fleeing the scene.
Bowman was taken to Shock Trauma, where he was pronounced dead. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide.
Mech is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
Singer is also being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $1 million bail.
