2 Arrested In Carroll County Burglary, False Imprisonment, Robbery & Car Theft
WESTMINSTER, Md. (WJZ)— Two people are arrested for burglarizing a Carroll County home, holding the homeowner hostage and then fleeing the scene in her vehicle.
Carroll County Sheriff's deputies responded to the home in the 300-block of College Avenue in New Windsor around 1 p.m. on Feb. 16.
The homeowner told deputies that as she arrived from church, she saw a man and woman inside of her home. She said the suspects displayed a knife and demanded money. They took $26 and held her inside for a half hour before demanding her car keys and fleeing in her vehicle.
On Tuesday, Maryland State Police Warrant Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested Courtney Lynn Maiuzzo, 20, in Montgomery County. After interviewing Maiuzzo, detectives were able to also link Thomas Edward Millender, 25, to burglary and robbery.
Maiuzzo was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree assault, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, theft less than $100 and false imprisonment. Additional charges are pending. She is held at the Carroll County Detention Center on a $35,000 bail.
On Thursday, Millender was charged by Carroll County Sheriff's Office Detectives for armed robbery, first-degree assault, theft less than $100, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and false imprisonment. Millender, who was being held at the detention center on other charges, has yet to see a judge for a bail review hearing on his new charges.
