2-Alarm Fire Damages Restaurants At Wheaton Mall
WHEATON, Md. (AP) -- A two-alarm fire that broke out at Westfield Wheaton Shopping Center has damaged three restaurants in the mall's food court.
About 75 Montgomery County firefighters were called to the mall Monday morning for a fire in the duct work above the Texas BBQ and Grill restaurant. The flames quickly extended to the attic and roof.
One firefighter was treated for a cut to the face.
Fire department officials say the fire was isolated to three restaurants. Those restaurants had to close, but the mall is open Monday.
Damages are expected to cost more than $200,000.
