Richardson said the investigation into Brown's shooting death has shown no evidence indicate his death is related to his father's work in law enforcement.
According to court documents, Brown was trying to sell liquid THC used in vaping over Snapchat.
Three teens were arrested in Brown's murder: 17-year-old Darryl Edward Freeman, 19-year-old Mikayle Qawwee and 16-year-old Keshawn Belasco, all from Waldorf. All three were charged with first-degree murder.
Charles County Sheriff's officials said robbery appears to be the motive in the case.
