11 & 14-Year-Old Among 3 Brothers Charged In Stepfather's Murder
PORT DEPOSIT, Md. (WJZ) -- Maryland State Police investigate a horrifying crime that's rocked a small Cecil County community. Three brothers are charged with killing their stepfather.
Two of the brothers are just 11 and 14-years-old.
Rick Ritter has the shocking details.
Police say the victim lived in the home with his wife and her five children and what came in as a medical call now appears to be a family slaying involving two young boys.
Authorities say brothers Willy Woodberry, 14, and Alishawaine Monk, 23, with the help of their 11-year-old brother, who's not being identified, murdered their stepfather.
"It's just crazy," said neighbor Dante Boyd.
On February 17, police responded to a medical call at the unit block of Green Lane near Port Deposit. That's where they found 47-year-old Vincent Robertson gunned down inside a mobile home.
"When EMS personnel responded, they found the victim was already deceased. They also noted what appeared to be a gunshot wound," said Greg Shipley, Maryland State Police.
State police say the victim lived at the home with is wife and her five sons and that an extensive investigation revealed three of the five were behind the murder.
Dante Boyd recalls the heavy police presence at February's crime scene. The neighbor admits he's lost sleep over the past five months.
"I'm wondering if I come out to the house and something like that would happen to me and my family," Boyd said.
Police say even though the three are now in custody, some questions remain unanswered.
"Investigators still don't have a clear motive as to why this occurred," said Shipley.
The 11-year-old is being charged as a juvenile. Maryland authorities are working to bring him back from Philadelphia, where he was found staying with relatives.
Woodberry and Monk are each facing second-degree murder charges. Monk is also charged with drug violations.
