$1,000 Coin Donated To Baltimore Area Salvation Army
BALTIMORE (WJZ)--The Salvation Army Baltimore area command got a great surprise when a gold coin was found in a Red Kettle in Carroll County.
The coin is an 1893 Liberty $10 gold piece and is estimated to be worth at least $1,000.
The Frederick Coin Exchange was the generous donor of the valuable coin.
Money donated to the red kettles is used for gifts and food as well as supporting the many Salvation Army programs throughout the year.
This charitable donation brings the Salvation Army closer to its goal of raising $600,000 this season in the Baltimore area.
