10 Charged In 3-State Burglary Investigations
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) -- Police have arrested 10 people and solved about 25 burglaries in West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle and neighboring Maryland and Virginia.
But Berkeley County sheriff's Cpl. William Christian says the burglaries don't appear to be the work of a single group. He says police believe the burglaries were committed by different individuals or groups.
Berkeley County Sheriff Kenneth Lemaster Jr. and Morgan County Sheriff Vince Shambaugh announced the arrests at a news conference Tuesday. They said about $70,000 worth of stolen items have been recovered, including a set of teeth containing gold.
Four cases date to 2005 but most of the burglaries have occurred since December.
