1 Killed In Crash On Route 3; Near Scene Of Triple Fatal Crash This Summer
MILLERSVILLE, Md. (WJZ) -- One person is dead after a crash on southbound Route 3 near Route 32.
It happened around 12:45 p.m. Friday and involved an SUV and a sedan.
Police say a Subaru Legacy driven by Celeste Leffingwell Loftin, 73, of Annapolis merged from Route 32 West onto Route 3 South.
Officers say the Subaru merged into the path of a Nissan Murano driven by Terry Lynn Delorge, 53, of Glen Burnie. Police say the cars collided and came to a stop in the road.
Loftin was pronounced dead at the scene. Delorge and a passenger in her car, 63-year-old Thomas Warren Delorge of Glen Burnie, were taken to a local hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening.
Route 3 southbound was closed as Maryland State Police investigated the crash.
The crash is not far from the location of a previous crash that killed three people earlier this summer.
