1 Dead After Fiery Crash On Baltimore-Washington Parkway
CHEVERLY, Md. (AP) -- U.S. Park Police say northbound lanes on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway have reopened after a fiery fatal crash.
Officers were called to the scene of a crash early Friday near state Route 202 in the Cheverly area.
Witnesses told police that a Lincoln hit a Ford Mustang, sending the Mustang off the road, where it rolled over and caught fire. Police say the driver of the Mustang was trapped and died in the fire.
The people inside the Lincoln got out of the vehicle and police say they fled the area before emergency responders arrived.
Northbound lanes were closed for nearly eight hours while police investigated on the scene, but have reopened. The investigation of the crash is continuing.
